Some news! A last minute change to the #111 driver line up at Kessel Ferrari resulted in me potentially missing the Spa 24 race. Alan and I worked hard on a solution with the team but could not find a place in another Ferrari.
As a result Kessel have loaned me out to Team Parker Racing, who will be competing in a Bentley Continental GT3 at the Spa 24 hours. They also happen to be the same team who won the AM category in 2015!
I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity, which will see me paired with Top Gear presenter Chris Harris and fellow co drivers Derek Pierce and Carl Rosenblad.
Racing at the Spa 24 Hour race is a realisation of a dream that I’ve been working on since my mid-20’s. I absolutely cannot wait to be part of such a massive event. Last year I competed in the Super Trofeo support race and stood at Pouhon in the pouring rain while the 24h race was under way, wondering how I’d ever get in one of those GT3 cars… well it’s happening and I’m so excited.
I’ll get my first taste of the Bentley GT3 on Tuesday during the 3 hour Bronze Test at Spa. You can find out more about the practice, qualifying and race schedule via the Official Spa24 Website.
Thanks to Alan Macdonald, Kessel, Peresoft and Team Parker for the huge effort to get me to the race.
