David will be competing in Round 2 of the Blancpain Endurance Championship.
Silverstone, one of the oldest Grand Prix Circuits, based in the United Kingdom.
I’ve been racing around Silverstone in video games for more than 20 years and always wondered what it would be like in real life. On the 14th of May I finally get to find out as I take part in Round Two of Blancpain Endurance Championship.
Keen to put the bad luck of Monza behind me, my goals remain the same: try to qualify in the top 25 overall and win our class (AM) on Sunday.
Silverstone is not an easy track to learn but, having studied it head to toe, I feel more prepared than ever before. Local knowledge will be a huge advantage for the local boys but I have confidence in my ability to learn fast and be competitive.
The competition at Round One was incredibly tough with the top 30 separated by less than a second in qualifying and I expect much of the same here. The depth of skill in the Blancpain field is incredible and I hope to count myself amongst them come the end of the race weekend.
Since I didn’t drive at Monza this will technically be my first race in the Blancpain Endurance Series for which I am extremely excited. Bring on Silverstone!
