David will be competing in Round 1 of the Blancpain Endurance Championship.
The legendary Monza Grand Prix Circuit near the city of Milan in Italy.
Round one of the Blancpain Endurance Championship will mark the first time that I am competing in a GT3 race. Having just missed out on a win last year in the Italian GT Cup (on debut) I am hoping to make amends this year.
As announced a few weeks back I will be racing for Kessel Racing in a Ferrari 458 GT3. You can find out how my first test in the new car went here.
The Blancpain Championship is the most presitgious GT3 series in the world, boasting the best teams and drivers at the best tracks.
The race itself is three hours long and requires that all three drivers do a one hour stint each. Driver changes are done during pit stops which take place each hour and include refueling and new tyre.
The aim of this event is to win the AM class. With it being my first time competing at this level I am keeping my expectations in check. The priority is to finish the race and not land up in a wall somewhere because I was taking unneccessary risks while fighting with drivers who aren’t in my class!
Check out the schedule and don’t forget to follow me for live updates from each session!

In 2015 David competed at Monza for the first time in the Italian GT Championship with Bonaldi Motorsport. Watch what happened in the videos below.
A last gasp lap at the end of qualifying resulted in a front row start. It was also my first time at Monza so it goes without saying that I had a huge smile on my face 🙂
In 2015 I fulfilled a childhood dream of racing at Monza. Join me behind the scenes as we travel to the track, qualify on the front row and leave with the championship lead in the Italian GT Championship!
